Prestige is a resource that you can gain and lose based on your actions. If the King of Armello dies of his illness, or if a hero kills the King but also dies in the attempt, the hero with the highest Prestige will win the game. In addition, every Dawn, the Hero with the highest Prestige will be given a choice of two King's Declarations to enact.

Ways to Gain Prestige[]

  • Killing other Heroes grants +1 Prestige, and if they have a Bounty, +1 more per level.
  • Killing Banes (while not Corrupted) grants +1 Prestige
  • Entering a Settlement that is Terrorized, calming it down, grants +1 Prestige (provided you don't have the Ruin Amulet)
  • Finishing a Quest grants +1 Prestige.
  • Some Cards grant Prestige - mostly Trickery Cards.
  • Some Amulets and Rings grant Prestige
  • Some King's Declarations can cause players to gain Prestige

Ways to Lose Prestige[]

  • Dying causes you to lose 1 Prestige
  • Killing a King's Guard causes you to lose 1 Prestige
  • If you have the Ruin Amulet, entering and Terrorizing a Settlement gives you -1 Prestige
  • Some Trickery Cards have Prestige costs
  • Some Quests have risky routes that can cost Prestige for failure (usually this offsets what you would have gained)
  • Some Trickery Cards played against you can cause you to lose Prestige
  • Some King's Declarations can cause players to lose Prestige
  • Attacking the King of Armello will cause you to lose ALL Prestige (except for that granted by equipment, Rings, and Amulets)
