Armello is a digital board/card game developed by League of Geeks. The game was more than successfully funded via a Kickstarter project which lasted from April 8 - May 8, 2014.[1]

The full version of Armello was released on September 1st, 2015, for the public to play and enjoy. The game is set to appear DRM-free on iPad, as well as Android and Windows tablets. Armello is currently available on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Story[]

The King of Armello has fallen ill to a dark and mysterious force called the Rot. The illness slowly consumes his body and soul, and twists him into madness. In response, Armello's Great Clans have called forth their Heroes to claim the throne of Armello.

Players take the control of a Hero from one of the Great Clans, on a quest to become the king or queen of Armello, through quests, schemes, exploration, defeating monsters, and vanquishing other players.

Gameplay[]

Armello utilizes a combination of cards, dice, hex, and symbol sets for gameplay. Players use Action Points to move their hero across the board. During a turn, players will complete quests, capture settlements, encounter followers, explore dungeons, collect treasures, vanquish the horrific Banes, and defeat other heroes through a dice-based combat system.

Between turns, players can equip items, cast spells, wield shiny treasures, recruit followers, and manipulate the board with hindering perils.

The game features a day and night cycle that can shift the dynamics of play. Each hero has their own advantages or disadvantages that factor in depending on the time of day. Night brings plenty of dangers, including spawning Banes. Daytime will bring more patrolling King's Guards.
